Rev. Jymme Taylor
An inspirational speaker, licensed practitioner, ordained minister , and promoter of individual and collective Spiritual growth and development.
I was born in Orange, California during the construction of the happiest place on earth, Disneyland, and then moved to Covina, Ca. till age 12. I am proud to say that I not only remember the 60’s but loved the experience. The music of that time is what I listen to today. I spent a few years in Omaha, Nebraska. and yes I dated a Boy from Boys Town, where my family is from.
When my father retired around 1968 we moved to a small town named Onyx, Ca. in the south of the Kern River Valley. This is where I spent most of my teenage years and started my family. I was married the first time at 17 and my husband was in the service so I traveled to Germany and spent time as well in Bardstown Kentucky. I have been a resident of Ventura since 1986 which is also the year I found the New Thought Movement. I am married and I have two beautiful daughters and six incredible grandchildren who live by me.
I have worked as an administrative assistant, church manager and teacher of New Thought classes for thirty years. I started singing in churches when I was young and still do occasionally. I have worked with Youth with a Mission, and Teen Challenge.
I come from a varied religious background. My mother was Catholic and my father was raised Christian Science. On my own journey I have studied and become Christian, Four Square, Assembly of God and Born Again Pentecostal all of which led me to the all inclusive and interdenominational New Thought Movement. The moment I started practicing the principles of NewThought I was home. This philosophy has saved my life.
I have had the privilege of being a practicing practitioner for the Centers for Spiritual Living for over 18 years, praying with other individuals and seeing the truth of their being, is the most rewarding experience I know. This philosophy satisfies my soul and sharing it with others fulfills my purpose. I went back to school at the age of fifty and I graduated from the (Ernest) Holmes Institute class of 2009 with a Master’s degree in Consciousness Studies. Holmes institute is an accredited Master’s Degree program whose mission is to prepare spiritual leaders for service in the global community.
Right after I graduated, Emerging Spirits, this New Thought Center was born. We are a vibrant community, filled with the enthusiasm of growth and promise.
Favorite Things: Spending time with my six grandchildren, riding on the back of a BMW with my husband Bernie, loving Emerging Spirits and a yearly trip to Waikiki, Hi.
